A proyect i'm currently working on in my carrer

A proyect i'm currently working on in my carrer

I'm studying design, and i have currenlty six subjects: proyect II, english, maths, visual composition II, conceptual representation and design's theory and criticism. The most of the proyects i'm working on are in progress but poorly developed, except for the one i'm working on proyect II, so i'm going to talk about that one.
On proyect II, we are working on the final work of the semester, which is a theatrical play. I never expected to be something like that because of what design is focused on. It was suprising and at the same time challenging because we are doing one big play as a class group. We have to do everything, the costumes, the script, the characters, the scenography, the movements, the music, and of course the performance itself. The play is going to be about dehumanization and mental health, which i think is a good topic because nowdays we, as a society, are in a very dark place emotionally, depression is very common, and the suicide rate is higher than ever, that isn't healthy and it shouldn't be ignored.
I'm in charge of the music with a classmate, we have to select the accurate music for each part of the play, and actually is a lot of work because there's not only backround music but also character's music and is hard to pick the perfect song for each one. Anyway, we do have time although i think we are going to need some more because it is a really slow process as we are a lot of minds trying to agree on everything. Well, i hope all works out so we can show a beautiful performance and get a good grade:).

Favourite movie or book.

F.R.I.E.N.D.S.

Today we are going to write about our favourite movie, series or book. It is actually a very difficult question to answer, because there are too many films and books that i like, but the first one that comes to my mind right now is an American TV show called F.R.I.E.N.D.S. It was created by David Crane and Marta Kauffman. The pilot episode premiered on NBC on september 22, 1994 and the last episode aired on May 6, 2004. It was a really long series, but it was a television sitcom so it makes sense, because sitcomes tend to be long. The main actors and actresses were Jennifer Aniston as Rachel Green, Courteney Cox as Monica Geller, Lisa Kudrow as Phoebe Buffay, Matthew Perry as Chandler Bing, David Schwimmer as Ross Geller and Matt LeBlanc as Joey Tribbiani.
The series is about this group of six friends and events of their lives. They spend a lot of time in the cafe that is on the first floor of their building, because four of them are neighbours, Rachel is Monica's roommate and right across the hall lives Chandler and Joey. The other two of them lives in different apartment but they are really close. The series is mainly a comedy but it has literally everything, it makes you laugh, cry, feel angry, feel anxious, etc. This is probably why i like it so much and don´t get bored (i've seen it like four times and it has 10 seasons with around 25 episodes each). I watch it all the time. It is the kind of series that once you've seen it, you'll watch it again and again while doing anything, like cooking, cleaning, getting ready, or just doing nothing, because even hearing it is funny.
About who i went to watch it with, it would be anyone. I watch it by myself the first time, at home because it is in Netflix. The thing is, as i watch it all the time, my family started to watch it too. My sister and my older brother saw it, and sometimes when i put an episode on my TV, they watch it with me. 馃槉

Celebration

Celebration

When it comes to a 'special celebration' what i think about is the celebration of my great-grandmother birthday (my dad's grandmother). She is currently 97 years old and fortunately she is still very healthy for her age, she doesen't need wheelchair or a walking stick, she can walk by her own, very slowly actually but she can.
Well, about the celebration. Every year since she turned 90, my grandmother (who has an incredible vitality by the way), makes her a really big birthday. She invites the whole family, and we end up being a quite big group, because my great-grandmother had one son and four daughters, and, every one of them had three or four children, then those children had around three or two children (that's my generation), and actually some of my cousins already had children. So, if you count every single person in the family we end up being a lot, i couldn't say how many. It is a regular birthday, with balloons, a birthday cake and presents, but with a lot of people.
The funny thing is that i'm never excited about going to this celebration, because meeting with the whole family, literally whole, means they are going to ask you a lot of silly quiestion and sometimes they judge you for anything, especially the older generations, but i think that the fact we all do this for my great-grandmother is really nice because sometimes, as people grow old, their family tends to forget about them, and everyone needs affection and consideration despite everything.

About the enviromental crisis

About the environmental crisis.

Today i'm going to talk about the environmental crisis and global warming. Certainly this is something that affect us all, from newborns to older people (and of course it affects the most to young people because our adulthood and the rest of our life is going to be catastrophic in environmental terms), affects poor and rich, doesn't matter where you are from because, as obvious as it sound, we are living all together in one single planet.
Despite of all that, we are immersed in capitalism, and i think this is a main aspect and the principal responsible of this catastrophe. Our world is collapsing out of selfishness and greed. We are extracting on a massive way thing that are not a property. Is just sick to think that we are living on a world where everything can be bought (not everything but most), and even so, this world is extremely unequal. There is people that have money for the equivalence of three lifes or more, and there is poeple that doesn't have bread for breakfast. Is just sick.
It makes me angry and scared. Scared because of course i don't wanna die young and the idea of an apocalyse is frightening. But most of all, i'm angry. Angry with us, with the human being, including me. What do we think? That the planet is ours? That animals are there for us to murder and eat them? That the sea is our trash can? That the forest is an ornament and we can cut and burn it whenever we want? We are a plague.
I think that rage (measured) is sometimes useful, it hepls on making you act, and do things that you care about. I think it's late for just start changing, this global awareness should have happened decades ago. But better late than never. We need to change our lifestyles and above all, we need to change our minds, change how we see the world, bacause it is not ours.

A job i would like to have.

A job I would like to have.

When it comes to work and having a job, the most important thing for me is doing something that makes me happy. I'm not really sure about what job i would like to have in the future, but it will definitely be related with the arts. I have imagined myself as a tattoo artist a lot lately, that's something i would like to do for a while as soon as i finish studying Design in Fau. A fantasy i have is tattooing while traveling around the world for a few years, i think it would be a really enriching experience, especially if i get to learn new languages. I would love to learn french and italian. Luckily this picture is not that far away from being a reality in the future because i do know a few about tattooing and i have done tattoos in the past, so i plan to retake it when i finish my studies.
Another job i imagine myself having in the future is as a designer. It's not very hard to guess because that is what i'm studying currently. I would like to create nice objects and spaces. Something i really like about design is that it solves problems in a beautiful way, using both art and having in consideration the utility of it. I would like to create design objects in a sustainable way, always trying to help the enviroment.
And, maybe it is not a job itself but i would really like to somehow make a change by being an animal rescuer and an environmental activist. Because i care about this things, i love animals and i think it is really important to be aware of the damage we do to the planet as humanity. It makes me really sad to know how we abuse nature and animals by killing them for our benefit. So i'd like to use some of my time on doing something that helps the panet and the animals.
Of course there is a lot more i would like to do, maybe as a job or maybe as a hobby, i don't know clearly. Anyway, it is never late to learn and do new things, so i guess i have a lot of time yet to figure it out. :)

Gabriela Mistral

Today i'm going to talk about Gabriela Mistral, because i think she was a very important person for chilean history and poetry.
She was really important in chilean history, and in my opinion one of the most influential female characters because of her poetry legacy and for being outstanding and remarkable on a time that wasn't equal for men and women, especially if you were a lesbian.
She was born in Vicu帽a, Chile on 1889 and died in New York in 1957 at the age of 67.
Her real name was Lucia de Mar铆a Godoy Alcayaga and she grew up in a realy poor family.
When little, she and her family moved to La Uni贸n (nowdays known as Pisco Elqui) and then Montegrande, this last one was considered by the poetess as her "beloved town" and even as her native town.
Her beginnings were as a teacher at the "Compa帽铆a Baja" School in La Serena in 1904, and in 1908 in La Cantera and also Cerrillos. She was really smart, so much that she recieved the "state teacher" tittle without even having studies.
On 1910, when she moved to Santiago, she knew the poet Pablo Neruda, who introduced her to literature. Ones of her many poems were "El perd贸n de una v铆ctima", "La muerte del poeta", "Las l谩grimas de la hu茅rfana", "Amor imposible" and "Horas sombr铆as".
As time passed, she become more and more famous because of her poems. She recieved a lot of recognition, winning the literature Nobel prize on 1945.
If i could ask her something, i would ask what changes she would do on today's chilean education.
There's a lot more i could say about here but it would take me a lot more than 220 words.
